King Curling Makes Generous Donation

Nov 23, 2020

Covid-19 has dealt an enormous impact on the sport of curling and other indoor activities.  But The King Curling Club (KCC) continues to “sweep” on.

As King Curling intended to resume programs in October 2020, Ontario’s Stage 2 mandate has precluded those plans.  The Trisan Centre remains closed but the club executive is maintaining communications with the Parks and Recreation department in the hopes of opening again in January 2021.

Due to the early closing of the club’s season last March, members were given the option of receiving a pro-rated refund or having their refund directly donated to charity. Overwhelmingly, the members generously chose to direct their thoughts and money to those who need it most.  The King Curling Club donated a cheque for $4970.00 to the King Food Bank, a charity that is close to the hearts of many.  These are challenging times and the needs in the community are even greater than ever.  King Curling’s Directors and Executive would like to thank the members for their kindhearted decision and wish for everyone’s health and safety during these difficult times.
